The Lay Member supports stronger public engagement in safety issues to improve the safeguarding of adults with additional care and support needs in Southend, and provides a community oversight and scrutiny of decisions and policies made by the Board.Their main duty will be to attend the Board meetings and other sub-groups as appropriate.For more information on the role, or to download a role description and application form, please visit the downloads section.The board must also publish an annual strategic plan and an annual report detailing how they met their objectives for the year gone by.Expenses will be reimbursed to cover travel and other costs.You will need to be a confident and effective communicator with the ability to challenge the SAB and its partner agencies constructively.
